The Role of Nonclassroom Spaces in Living-Learning CommunitiesGlobal education and global competence prepare students for the 21st century. Nearly every major issue facing people has a global dimension, from climate change to economics. Schools must prepare students to be globally competent by being able to both understand and act upon issues of global significance. Global education is built upon a foundation of knowledge and understanding but frames learning within the lens of rigorous study. This incorporates investigations, recognizing perspectives, communicating ideas, and taking action. The impact on student learning is great. Research has demonstrated that students who learn content through authentic tasks and real-world experiences are more likely to engage in learning, attend school, and achieve more. Ultimately, students who experience global education are more likely to have a competitive edge when entering the university system or labor force.By: Anne Miller vijayalaxmi Santosh MhetreThursday, May 27, 2021HEALTH AND NUTRITION+1

Perform research on the company and roleCarefully examine the job description During your prep work, you should use the employer’s posted job description as a guide. The job description is a list of the qualifications, qualities and background the employer is looking for in an ideal candidate. The more you can align yourself with these details, the more the employer will be able to see that you are qualified. The job description may also give you ideas about questions the employer may ask throughout the interview. 2. Consider why you are interviewing and your qualifications Before your interview, you should have a good understanding of why you want the job and why you’re qualified. You should be prepared to explain your interest in the opportunity and why you’re the best person for the role.By: Anne Miller vijayalaxmi Santosh MhetreThursday, May 27, 2021HEALTH AND NUTRITION+1

What did you do this weekLast Friday I enjoyed a nice drink with my best friend and then we drove to a near city to have dinner. Plain and simple, but OMG it seemed something incredibly special to me. Somewhere between the lockdown, the death of my grandfather and an exhausting study for an exam that didn’t go as I had planned, I forgot I actually enjoyed spending time out of my house. Sure, I go jogging with my other best friend almost every day now and I go visiting the boy I’m going out with once or twice a week — but even these things have fallen under the routine in which I try to wrap my entire existence (a bit maniacally I’m afraid). It was refreshing to talk with someone who has similar familiar situations/political views/everyday problems. Also, she knows basically everything about me because we’ve been friends for almost fifteen years now.By: Anne Miller vijayalaxmi Santosh MhetreThursday, May 27, 2021CULTURE AND SOCIETY

Breakfast is the most important meal of the dayBreakfast is often described as the most important meal of the day, providing as it does sustenance and energy (i.e., calories) for whatever activities lay ahead. As nutritionist Adelle Davis famously put it back in the 1960s: “Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper.”By: Anne Miller vijayalaxmi Santosh MhetreThursday, May 27, 2021HEALTH AND NUTRITION

Out Of Date Fact 1: You Should Drink 8 Glasses of Water A DayMany health professionals have said for years it is recommended that we try and drink 8 cups or 2 litres of water a day. However, this is only a recommendation and according to Harvard research depending on your lifestyle, size and other contributing factors; drinking 4-6 glasses of water is just as good for you. Accurate water consumption should be not be based on how much water you can drink a day, as this varies with body weight, size, activity levels, climate, etc.. You should drink what you need and when you are thirsty; never force the act of drinking water (this can lead to negative health implications).
